The American Insurance Association (AIA) applauding the appointment of Rep. Bill Deal to director of the Idaho Department of Insurance.
Deal stepped down from him position in the House of Representatives for Idaho’s District 13 to assume the commissioner position. According to AIA, he is a past president of the Idaho Independent Insurance Agents Association. Deal and his wife owned and operated W.W. Deal Insurance Agency in Nampa, Idaho.
“Representative Deal’s four decades in the insurance industry and eight terms in the Idaho House of Representatives will give him a unique perspective on the critical public policy issues facing insurance companies operating in Idaho,” said Steve Suchil, AIA vice president, Western region, in a statement. “Gov.Butch Otter made the right choice. Idaho insurance consumers will be well-served by such a qualified regulator. AIA and its member companies look forward to working with Representative Deal in his new role.”
