VotersInjuredatWork.org.,the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, and the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association announced that they will rally injured workers to oppose Gov. Schwarzenegger’s reported attack on permanently disabled workers at the final public hearing on the proposed reductions on April 4 in San Francisco.
“Hundreds of thousands of Californians are injured at work each year, and many endure permanent disabilities from those injuries,” said Mark Hayes, president of VotersInjuredatWork.org, a non-profit political organization of injured workers and their families. “Governor Schwarzenegger is attacking permanently disabled workers by cutting already-inadequate compensation by 50% to 70%.”
The three will hold a news conference and rally injured workers prior to a public hearing on the proposed permanent disability compensation cuts.
The event will take place at the State Building, 455 Golden Gate Avenue (McAllister Street entrance).
