The 59-year-old wife of a Norway, S.C., businessman has been charged with making a false claim in a fire at her husband’s auto shop.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported Tuesday that Sandra Blake has been arrested and charged with making a false claim or statement for insurance purposes after a fire. It was not clear if she has an attorney.
The Aug. 6 fire destroyed Blake’s Auto Sales owned by Sandra and Thomas Blake.
Thomas Blake and Ernest Smith have both been charged with four counts of third-degree arson. Thomas Blake also faces a count of criminal conspiracy. Officials said Thomas Blake hired Smith to set the fire. A church and store were also damaged.
Sandra Blake’s warrant said she filed the insurance claim for the business loss.
