Authorities say 19 people are being treated at area hospitals following a bus crash near Immokalee.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a car crossed the center line on County Road 846 in Hendry County Monday morning causing a bus carrying farmworkers to steer toward the grassy shoulder. The left front of the car struck the bus.
The bus was carrying 45 farmworkers. Eighteen people from the bus, including the driver, were taken to hospitals two area hospitals. Their injuries were considered minor.
The driver of the car was taken in critical condition to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.
An investigation continues.
