Rhett Rayburn has been named vice president of Southeast operations in GEICO’s Macon, Ga., office. Prior to his new role, Rayburn served as assistant vice president of claims operations in GEICO’s Tucson office since 2010.
Rayburn began his GEICO career as a telephone claims representative trainee in GEICO’s Virginia Beach office in 1992. He advanced through several claims positions in the company’s Virginia Beach and Macon offices, and served as claims liability director in GEICO’s Lakeland office.
In addition to managing claim operations, Rayburn also served as liability process coordinator with the competitive advantage leadership group, and then completed the executive assistant program before he was named liability director in GEICO’s San Diego office in 2009. A year later, he was named assistant vice president with claims responsibilities in GEICO’s Tucson office.
“Rhett’s experience in our claims operations gives him a breadth of experience that few others possess,” said Tony Nicely, GEICO chairman and CEO. “He could not be better prepared to meet the challenge of running a region.”
Rayburn holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and GEICO Certified Underwriter designations.
