The 12-year-old daughter of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio remains hospitalized in fair condition with a head injury following a golf cart accident.
Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said Sunday that Amanda Rubio is undergoing neurological testing. Conant says the long-term prognosis is positive for the senator’s oldest daughter.
Amanda was airlifted Saturday to Miami Children’s Hospital after the golf cart in which she was riding was involved in a collision in a private gated community.
Rubio had been campaigning in Florida with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney when he was notified about the accident. The senator left Romney’s campaign to be with his family.
Rubio has four children who continue to live at the family’s West Miami home while he commutes to Washington.
