Citizens Property Insurance Corporation says teams of adjusters are preparing to assess damage caused Tropical Storm Isaac.
In a statement issued Sunday, Citizens Board Chairman Carlos A. Lacasa says the mobile units will be ready to move quickly into affected areas to assist property holders.
Officials from the state’s largest property insurer estimate they could get up to 50,000 claims, depending on the storm’s path.
They’ve called in 300 independent adjusters in addition to the 450 adjusters currently in the field. Officials say an additional 3,400 pre-qualified adjusters can be called upon if necessary.
