Alabama isn’t like the rest of the nation when it comes to stolen vehicles.
A new report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau says the most stolen vehicle in the United States in 2011 was a 1996 Honda Accord. In Alabama, it was a 1997 full-size Chevrolet pickup. Number two in Alabama was a 2000 full-size Ford pickup. The 1996 Honda Accord came in third.
Nationally, the 1996 Accord was followed by the 1998 Honda Civic and the 2006 full-size Ford pickup.
The report says vehicle thefts nationally declined from 2010 to 2011.
