North Charleston, S.C., is fighting a $2,000 fine by the state Occupational Health and Safety Administration for not filling out paperwork before firefighters battled a house fire two years ago, among other things.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports three firefighters were injured in the July, 2010, blaze.
The fire department was cited for failing to properly monitor the whereabouts of its firefighters and not having enough personnel ready to help.
The city says OSHA overstepped its authority. Attorney Sandy Senn represents the city and says the rules would require the first fire captain on the scene to fill out worksheets with firefighter assignments before fighting the fire.
