Eleven people were injured, four critically, when a motorhome bound for a college football championship game in New Orleans went off Interstate 59 in southern Mississippi and struck a tree.
WDAM-TV reports that the motorhome from Georgia was carrying 13 passengers when it left the interstate around 4:30 p.m. just north of the Evelyn Gandy parkway exit. Some interstate lanes were blocked as the injured were transported by ground and air to local hospitals.
Officials said the group was apparently traveling to the Bowl Championship Series national championship game, which will be played Monday in New Orleans.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately known Saturday evening.
