A worker has died from injuries he received in a flash fire at a Nashville metals plant over the weekend.
The Metro Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the death of 28-year-old Shawn Allen Austin of Nashville, according to The Tennessean.
Austin was one of two workers injured Saturday at the John W. McDougall Co., which does custom fabrication of sheet metal. The state Occupational Health and Safety division will also investigate.
Austin’s death comes less than two months after a fire at the GKN/Hoeganaes Corp. metals plant in Gallatin injured five workers, two of whom later died.
Austin died on Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Hospital, where the other worker was reported in stable condition on Thursday.
