Michael D. Riley has been named as acting West Virginia insurance commissioner.
Acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said Tuesday that Riley’s appointment is effective July 1. Insurance Commissioner Jane Cline is retiring on June 30.
Riley currently is assistant commissioner of regulation in the Insurance Commissioner’s Office. He joined the office as an administrative services manager in 2001.
