Al posts here under a number of aliases, Josie, but his message of bias and lack of compassion for anyone but straight white males is always the same. Hell even become self-congratulatory in some threads by creating a second alias to “ditto” his first. Dont mind him, all polls indicate he and his breed are a dying type.

I love it when people get religious and start quoting from the bible, saying what is and isn’t immoral. Yet they conveniently forget that the catholic church is probably the most immoral institution on the planet. I’m not saying you are catholic, but they tend to have the biggest mouths when it comes to pointing out the sins of others. All in the name of God, of course.

If she would have done that the school board wouldn’t have banned her and her date, they would have brought in a camera crew..

How else is the public school system supposed to compensate for budget cuts?

I have to admit this issue puts me in a bind. I want to be tolerant of others, and I have to because I work with folks who have a different sexual orientation than me; and I believe they are that way from birth. I don’t understand the biology of it but I am sure it is fact. but when that person insists on having the rest of us do things differently than was the norm, it makes everyone uncomfortable. So when gays want to be parents, I cringe at their attempts to “normalize” their lives because it just appears stupid and pathetic to play house. They had the right to marry or to take a date but they chose not to exercise that right and instead want to change the definition of that right to marry and date…in my world, dating and marriage were heterosexual activities, just as procreation is. So my problem is how to reconcile good people with behavior that is off-putting and at the same time recognizing that my kids generation is far more tolerant and open about these issues that they don’t blink an eye. for me the jury is still out, but I have this to say, the young lady in question deliberately challenged the status quo and got the exact result that was expected. so the envelope has been stretched now. does it make any sense then to pay her off? or for her to expect payment? How can I be humane and human, without upsetting the values that I was taught? well, I just tell myself that I can accept that person, and that person can accept me, because we do not necessarily have to have sex together. She must be having some kind of personal crisis knowing that her behavoir is still not the norm; I just don’t think that she should profit from this incident and be treated better than me. she should dhare the money with her classmates, if she really wanted to be fair. Now she is the one who is discriminating against others. Greed is greed no matter what mask it wears and taht is the real issue here. Her father supported her and mades sure the ACLU would know about this; she school should have handled it better.

The point is not that she profited from the incident, but that the school board was punished for discriminating against her. How else do you punish a corporate or public entity? By dipping into their pocketbook…

Am I missing something here? Why are YOU interfering with my FREEDOM OF RELIGION??? Why do I have to follow YOUR RELIGION? I don’t think my government is interfering with you, I think YOU are interfering with ME.

If you would like to discuss the CONSTITUTION, leave your bible at home. As it doesn’t pertain to me.

I came in here to make a wise *** remark poking fun of her agriculture school prom. I read some comments, laughed my *** off and now cannot for the life of me remember the joke i was gonna make.

I got so distracted by talk of 1 legged donkey sex shows with muslims, that now I can’t even insult this poor lesbian. You people should be ashamed of yourselves!

On another note…where is that donkey show going down b/c the Joker loves to get down with the Burro.

Discrimination should not be tolerated for any reason. The Lesbian student did not cause the rest of the kids to loose the prom – that was the narrow minded control freaks that are running that district. She had as much right to be there with her date as anyone else did. I don’t necessarily agree with her choice in partner but it’s clearly not my place to place any kind of judgment – nor any of you. I think it’s sad that it took a lawsuit to make that point. She was discriminated against, worse yet, the school did nothing to stop the harassment of her peers – she deserves the money. The school district was wrong on many different levels. Schools should be teaching and promoting ‘tolerance’ – certainly not discrimination and that’s what they did.

How completely ignorant are you?? Being around gays or lesbians isn’t going to turn you or your children gay!! I am a tax payer and I have a teenage daughter and I do teach her “tolerance”. You do not have to like something or approve of something that someone is doing, however, they still must be respected as human being. I certainly hope you haven’t raised any children!!! That Lesbian has every right to be there as much as every hetero – this is a fact of life. Crawl out from under the rock you live under and open your eyes. This is America – people do have freedom here and discrimination will not be tolerated period. Until people like you are able to gain acceptance there will always be hatred, bigotry and discrimination. Grow up….
