Prohibitions on shellfish and sabbath work were ceremonial and temporary, and done away with in Christ. If you had ever read the Bible with any real interest you would understand this.
How can you blame any of this on the lesbian student. We have a small thing called civil rights in this country that does not allow discrimination based on color, creed, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. These rights protect all of us – not just the narrow-minded, self-rightous citizens. Nowhere do they protect discrimination from wearing a bikini or having an umbrella sticking out of one’s butt. Certainly you can not compare that to discrimination against race, gender, or sexual orientation. What century are you people living in???
I just love how “Sexual Orientation” was just recently added to the protected classes. Does that mean you’re OK with preferring to have sex with animals or my daddy or mama or sister or… That is, after all, an “orientation”, you liberal dope.
They were done away with for the Church, for the purposes of salvation etc. If your state is dry on Sunday, complain to your state representative, not me.
Temperence is alive and well in a great number of churches which exert pressure on the government. I see it regularly….

I disagree. The SCHOOL forced the issue, not the girl. But you are too narrow minded to see that. I bet her classmates were accepting of her lifestyle decisions and didn’t have a problem with her choice of date. But again, you won’t see it that way.
And if I had to put money on it, you probably think they should have had a “white” prom and a “colored” prom. And for you that’s ok. I accept you and your backwards thinking.

No one forced her to do anything, but she forced the school and its students to lose the prom, something these kids looked forward to for years.
