Commercial vehicles traveling through West Virginia will undergo mandatory safety inspections during an annual enforcement effort.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Public Service Commission enforcement officers started inspecting commercial vehicles at the northbound Bluestone Rest Area on Interstate 77 and at the Cooper’s Rock Weigh Station on Interstate 68 near Morgantown.
The PSC says commercial vehicles traveling other highways will be inspected by roving patrols.
The inspections will continue through 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
During last year’s campaign, the PSC says 138 vehicles were taken off the roadways because they weren’t in compliance with federal safety regulations.
