Allstate Insurance will close its Mississippi phone-claims center by Oct. 30, eliminating 63 local jobs.
The claims center in Ridgeland has been in operation for about 30 years.
Allstate spokesman Mike Siemienas says 33 positions will be moved centers in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Siemienas says employees in Ridgeland will be offered the chance to transfer to the Tennessee and Kentucky claims centers or apply for other company positions.
After the claims center closes, some sales personnel will be based at the building, but Siemienas couldn’t say how many would be.
He said the closing does not affect field agents who assist customers seeking insurance policies and other service.
