A North Carolina sheriff’s office says thieves have taken large appliances from houses that were listed for sale on the Internet.
The Wilmington Star-News reported that the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said a washer and dryer, a stainless steel electric range and dishwasher and two air conditioning units were stolen in the last week.
An Internet ad for one of the houses that was burglarized said that it featured a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances. A sliding glass door was broken into at that house and damage to floors was estimated at more than $12,000.
Thieves kicked open a back door at another house and took a washer and dryer and stove.
