Firefighters evacuated the emergency room and cafeteria at Piedmont Hospital in midtown Atlanta after an appliance in the kitchen caught fire.
Lt. Jerome Wright with the Atlanta Fire Department said no one was injured in the June 24 blaze. Wright said the fire did not cause significant damage but filled part of the hospital with smoke.
Wright said firefighters moved the ER patients out of concern they would inhale the smoke.
The blaze is not under investigation.
