Part of their profit was an IRS refund they received this year for 2004 or 2005. Will any of that money be returned to the Floridians who paid the assessment I don\’t think so!!!
The ones that are going to get hurt the worst are the ones the government is supposedly trying to help. This is very reminiscent of New Jersey\’s auto market issues, wherein government tried to regulate a free economy. It took years to fix the mess bureaucrats created. But…it scores political points to blame the insurance carriers, doesn\’t it. (sigh)
Tom says the legislature confirms what I said earlier:
the Rest of the World is expected to bail out Florida. period, no argument – that\’s what is expected and probably will happen, unless Washington shows some backbone and tells Florida they can sleep in the bed they made – but there isn\’t enough backbone in Washington to do that.

The correct figure is 15% in order for Citizens to keep its tax exempt status.
