Fla. Representative Honored with Top Legislative Award

Representative Don Brown, District 5, was recently awarded Professional Insurance Agents of Florida’s (PIA) Excellence in Government award. PIA’s Excellence in Government Award is based on professional competence, high ethical standards, and overall contributions to the industry.

According to the PIA, Rep. Brown has worked tirelessly for all Floridians. He believes that people working together can achieve great things and that’s what he worked for this year—notably his work on the balanced budget, and making workers’ compensation and personal injury protection auto insurance affordable for Floridians.

Mark O’Connell, PIA of Florida’s executive vice president, noted, “Legislative advocacy is perhaps the most important service that we, as an association, provide. We recognize that we work in a heavily regulated industry and one where everyone has an opinion about how we should or shouldn’t conduct our business. Don Brown’s integrity and consensus-building skills make him very worthy of this award.”
