Police say they suspect two men are responsible for more than 150 apartment burglaries in the Austin area.
Austin, Texas, police have investigated the burglaries for more than a year. Authorities said during a news conference Wednesday that 29-year-old Patrick King and 33-year-old Dennis Webb have been charged with a handful of burglaries but additional charges are anticipated. In most instances the apartment doors were pried open.
Webb remained in custody Wednesday at the Travis County jail while King is out on bail. Both men are from the Austin suburb of Pflugerville.
Police had identified two suspects in January based on witness reports. A surveillance operation began and police say King and Webb were seen leaving an apartment with stolen items.
Authorities say more than $30,000 in stolen goods later were found.
