The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has found no criminal wrongdoing in the July drowning of a 14-year-old boy at Cajun Lagoon water park near Denham Springs.
Nick Kissner, of Port Allen, drowned July 30 at the park, located off La. 16 between Denham Springs and Watson.
Livingston Parish District 5 firefighters and Sheriff’s Office deputies were called around 1 p.m. about the drowning. Medical personnel tried to revive the youth but were unsuccessful.
Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Lori Steele tells The Advocate an investigation found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
John Kissner has blamed the park for his son’s death, saying its waters are too deep and that the park’s structure is too dangerous for children.
