Authorities say a construction worker has died after falling four stories from a building site at the University of Oklahoma.
The Norman Transcript reports that the man was working at Headington Hall on Monday when he fell. The new residence hall is located at Lindsey Street and Jenkins Avenue and is scheduled to be completed by fall 2013.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s name but say he was employed by Universal Roofing & Sheet Metal. Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death.
Officials with Flintco – the private contractor building the residence hall – say it appears the man did not secure his safety harness properly.
