An Ardmore woman has been killed in a boating collision on a southern Oklahoma lake.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 52-year-old Robbie L. Brooks suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident about 5:48 p.m. Sunday at Lake Murray in Carter County.
Troopers believe the boat on which Brooks and another person were riding was headed north near Tipp’s Point when another northbound vessel struck theirs from behind and threw her into the water.
The patrol reported an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver of the other boat, but didn’t indicate if that person was cited.
Troopers attributed the cause of the collision to inattention and excessive speed for night conditions.
