Oklahoma Woman Whose Son Died in Crash Files Lawsuit

January 25, 2012

A Grady County, Okla., woman whose son died in a car accident last year has sued the parents of the car’s driver.

KOCO-TV reported Monday that Karla Raasch filed the lawsuit against Mack and Cammy Lyons for nearly $4 million.

Fifteen-year-old Evan Raasch was riding in a Chevrolet Camaro that went off a Grady County road Jan. 27. The lawsuit says Matthew Hoskins was driving more than 100 mph before losing control of his vehicle.

The lawsuit alleges a kit was installed in Hoskins’ car that allowed it to reach such high speeds, and that Hoskins’ parents knew or should have known he was an unsafe driver because of tickets he’d received.

Raasch’s attorney, John Nelson, didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment. A listing for Mack Lyons was disconnected.
