Thieves have stolen a cement statue of St. Francis from an Episcopal church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma City television station KFOR reports that the theft was reported last week. The statue was stolen from a garden on the grounds of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
The Rev. Mark Story says there’s no point in being angry about the theft. Story says he’d have given the statue away if someone who needed it had asked.
Edmond police spokeswoman Glynda Chu says the theft has left investigators shaking their heads.
Chu and Story both say they hope the culprit returns the statue.
