A woman suing former Oklahoma State basketball coach Eddie Sutton for a February 2006 auto crash wants the case moved out of Payne County.
Teresa Barnard says she suffered back and leg injuries and suffered mental anguish when Sutton crashed into her vehicle while he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Sutton’s blood-alcohol content was measured at .22 – nearly three times the legal limit.
The Stillwater NewsPress reports that Barnard’s motion for a change of venue says she can’t receive a fair trial and that most of the jury pool would be eliminated because OSU is the largest employer in the county.
Sutton was driving to catch a flight to a game when he crashed. He later pleaded guilty to aggravated drunken driven and resigned as coach.
