Authorities searching Arkansas’ Beaver Lake for a missing woman’s sport utility vehicle say they’ve found stolen cars, a backhoe, part of a helicopter and a school bus.
They also found the SUV they were looking for.
Washington County Sheriff’s Capt. Dallas McClellan told The Springdale Morning News that divers last week found the SUV belonging to Kelly Lockhart of Springdale. Remains found in the SUV have yet to be positively identified.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Ranger Alan Bland says the school bus may have been left in the valley that was submerged when the lake was created in 1964. The backhoe is believed to be one that fell from a bluff and Eureka Springs dive shop owner Jim Butler says he sunk the shell of a helicopter to help train scuba divers.
