Mr Stevens, you are obviously a contractor. I, for one, don’t appreciate you posting ads on this forum. The pricing software used by adjusters is driven by research and is our only hope at a standardized claim/repair estimation. This levels the playing field for insureds. If the actual cost of repair (assuming the agent sold replacement cost) exceeds the estimate, the insured will be reimbursed via recoverable depreciation. This may not be the best way, but giving more power to the contractors will inevitably lead to more problems than it is worth. You are case in point – using a forum like this to post your phone number. Inappropriate.
Nerd – you’re right. Pretty big one by west Texas standards. In 2008 we had hurricanes Ike & Dolly. There is also a hail belt in N Texas. I really took offense to Bill Whites comments. Being from Houston he should understand how difficult it is to FIND homeowners insurance, and there is already too little investment dollars in the Texas HO market. This would really be a bad thing for Texas consumers. The voters will let him know how we feel about this and other issues in Nov.

Didn’t El Paso get hit with a huge, freak hail storm last year?
