It sounds like you would leave the home insurance industry in the same condition that you left the Houston City Budget!!
Why not have contractors bid online in an auction engine based on what an adjuster posts as to a discription of damages. An adjuster is not a repair contractor so stop having adjusters detemrine the repair costs in using software estimating programs. That is flawed and opens the process to fraud bribes and big waste. Best to have the contrator tell what they are bidding per each item with itemized narrative comments. You stop the process of all trying to guess. All that is required is a number of licensed contrators with fee access to insurance work and all he has to do is reply with $ costs with his specified comments. The cost of insurance drops since the claims costs and expenses are much less.A lot less litigation and apprasal costs since a price is posted to repair by a contractor.
