Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company announced plans to open a new national service center in Dallas, Texas, to provide a more efficient and standardized approach to its overall customer service capabilities.
The new center will consist of direct sales and sales support functions, a centralized customer call center, field support for the company’s employees working in remote locations, and other support initiatives for independent agents who sell Fireman’s Fund products and services. The new facility will incorporate the company’s existing office, which currently employs 180 staff in downtown Dallas.
Fireman’s Fund plans to add jobs in Dallas over the next two to three years. Initially, the company will hire about 80 new employees for its Specialty business, which includes ocean cargo, inland marine and related property, hull and marine liabilities, primary casualty, excess casualty, professional liability and programs. It is seeking candidates with a strong customer service orientation, computer skills with an emphasis on data accuracy, good verbal and written communications, and knowledge of the insurance industry. Fireman’s Fund will continue to operate its other national customer service in Earth City, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
The state of Texas was selected as the site of the new center for a variety of reasons. Its location can effectively support business in all regions of the country and offers a strong local pool of potential employees. Fireman’s Fund was also offered incentives by the City of Dallas in the form of personal property tax exemptions.
Fireman’s Fund has had a presence in Dallas for more than 40 years and has been active philanthropically to make it a safer community. Through its Fireman’s Fund Heritage program, the company has donated nearly $100,000 in grants to area fire departments for critically needed equipment, training, and fire safety and prevention programs.
These grants include $36,650 to the City of Lancaster Fire Department; $17,700 to the Lake Cities Fire Department in Corinth; $17,500 to the Nevada Volunteer Fire Department; $7,000 to the Garland Fire Department; $6,255 to the University Park Fire Department; $5,000 to the Bedford Fire Department; $3,500 to the Rolling Oaks Volunteer Fire Department in Wills Point; and $2,500 to the Dallas Fire Department. The company’s employees and independent agents nominate fire departments for these grants.
