FEMA-approved applicants who have signed leases for travel trailers or mobile homes in Louisiana should not move their units from one location to another.
Mobile home and travel trailer sites are researched and carefully selected to ensure temporary homes are placed in suitable locations.
Prior to signing an occupancy agreement, the individual is informed of all rules and regulations pertaining to FEMA temporary housing. The individual is also given a document that clearly states these rules.
Before being handed the keys, the individual must certify an understanding of all rules and regulations regarding living in FEMA temporary housing.
If there needs to be a change or an update of the travel-trailer delivery address, the individual should call FEMA as soon as possible to eliminate any delay. Or, if a circumstance arises where a travel trailer has already been delivered and needs to be moved to another location, call FEMA’s evacuee housing hotline at 1-888-294-2822 or the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 1-800-462-7585.
