Louisiana-based Gilsbar Inc., a national third party administrator and insurance services provider, is up and operational serving the needs of its clients following Hurricane Katrina.
Though the Parish of St. Tammany, 40 miles north of New Orleans, was hard-hit by the storm, Gilsbar’s corporate offices sustained no flooding or property damage, and only lost electrical power temporarily. Gilsbar employees began taking calls Friday, Sept. 2 in an effort to assure its clients, partners and vendors that its disaster recovery plan was initiated and that they would be open for business Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m. (CST). With full power restored and all systems and data fully secure and accessible, the large majority of Gilsbar employees have returned to work.
According to Hank Miltenberger, Gilsbar’s CEO, “Our first concern is for our employees and their families. We are trying to get the word out that all employees can return to work and we will provide assistance locating temporary housing and child care for them through our Human Resources department at 985-871-1898 or 1-800-GILSBAR.”
Health plan members and employer clients can access Customer Service toll free at 1-800-GILSBAR (1-800-445-7227) with claims and eligibility questions.
