W. R. Berkley Corporation announced the appointment of Timothy F. Galvin as president of Midwest Employers Casualty Company (MECC). The appointment is effective immediately.
Based in Chesterfield, Mo., Midwest Employers Casualty provides excess workers’ compensation insurance to employers on a nationwide basis and is an expert and innovator in its marketplace.
Galvin succeeds Melodee J. Saunders, who served as the Company’s president since 2001. Saunders will remain a key member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation team.
Galvin has more than 30 years of experience in the property casualty insurance industry. Most recently, he served as the senior vice president of specialty operations consisting primarily of national accounts and captives and as senior vice president of middle market commercial accounts for a leading national insurer.
