Rick Hoagland has been named vice president of claims home office at GEICO. He succeeds Nancy Pierce, who was recently named regional vice president in GEICO’s Fredericksburg, Va. office.
Hoagland began his GEICO career in 1994 as a telephone claims representative in the company’s Fredericksburg office. He took on assignments in sales, service, underwriting, and was selected the company’s executive assistant program. In 2009, Hoagland was elected assistant vice president of claims of the Midwest regional operations in Macon, Ga. and was later named assistant vice president of underwriting there in 2010.
GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies. The company handles auto insurance coverage for 11 million private passenger auto policies and insures more than 17.5 million vehicles.
