the airlines do reduced power takeoffs to lower engine maintenance costs and comply with noise abatement procedures near airports. This causes a lower(more birds) longer time takeoff profile. The airlines fly assigned ground tracks to avoid noise sensitive areas and associated noise monitors. This causes the ground track to pass over unpopulated areas(more birds) causing more risk of bird strike….This is condoned by the FAA, NTSB, Airlines, Pilots, Pilot’s Union, and engine manufacturer. The New York Port Authority would have the capability to see each bird in the area and the traffic was not pointed out in the case of US Airways 1549. Where’s all the beautiful lawsuits? I’m waithing………..
