Sure, Steve, you can join. With the best of luck, you may end up with a free can of Alpo in about 6 years. Hope you can wait!. oh, btw, if you do decide to join a class action, the attorneys thank you whole heartedly. They will be dining on kobe beef, while the plaintiffs get Alpo.

Yes my dog died from kidney failure and i have 2 cats being treated, join a class action law suit and call the fDA. Here is one Class action law group email for you.
http://www.blimlaw.com You can also type in menu foods class action law suits and there is at least 3 to 6 lawyers suing and from what I hear they will all probably turn it into one large one but I am not sure about that but usually when it is against two companies, Menu Foods and the China co. that made the wheat gluten they judge tries to get it to become one large suit instead of a lot of different ones, but either way do it now before it is too late and you have to file a complaint with the FDA. You can email me and we can talk I know how you are feeling I am so sick, I have Lupus and the stess has caused a bad flare and I have two 9 year old girls who cry a lot and are depressed. This is wrong and we all need to fight to the end for our sweet pets who died in pain and for the ones like my cats and yours who are being treated and suffering from that. Bless you and you are in my prayers! My email is Libba66@gmail.com

Please read what I wrote to Stacey on here and also email me if you would like to we all need to stick together and fight for out sweet family members and not let this company get away with just paying vet bills acting like they are just property like a car or house that no one deserves anything for the pain and suffering of our pets and us and our families. We have given our love, companionship, food, grooming and vet care to these sweet pets and all they asked in return was our love, food, a warm bed and as my grandmother told me when the time comes to not let them suffer and to take them to the vet and let them go in peace. I wanted so bad to hang on to my sweet Manda but she was suffering and I saw in her eyes that if she could talk the only thing she would ask of me is Mommy please help me, please put me out of my suffering and with all the pain in the world and a piece of my heart missing i held her in my arms while they gave her the shot and told her she is now in heaven and will see me soon and we will play again in the fields of green. And for the pets that are not as severe as my Manda was the vets can save them depending on how bad their kidneys were effected. Luckly with my cats I caught them stealing her food fast and took it to my room so they only have minor damage and only have to go through about 2 to 3 weeks of fluid put under their skin 2 to 3 times a week, be on antibiotics and nasua medication. we have a lot of pet lovers on this fight and we have God on our side and I know in my heart these companies will not get away with this and they will pay more than just the vet bills. Pets are not property they are family and loved more than anyone can put into words. Good luck with your other cats they are in my heart.

Somehow, I have this feeling you are lawyer looking to profit from other peoples loss. As said by MANY professionals, animals are considered property and you can\’t get damages for property. The pockets that are going to get lined are the attorneys. What is wrong with going to the company and having them pay the vet bills? This is more than they would actually have to do. They are being generous. I do not believe there was any willful intent on their part. I too have animals and would be very upset had they got sick or died from this, but also, you have to be realistic. I am so sick of these snake oil salesmen (attorneys), just trying to make a buck off someone\’s elses misfortune. Go back under the rock you came from.

Compman I am far from a lawyer. I am severyly disabled from Lupus. Fibromyagia, Raynauds Syndrom and Migraines. I am a duaghter of and Air Force fighter Pilot who during his service he got his masters with and A and now has his PHD, He is now know as Sr.__-___–!! My mother was a stay at hom mom until we went to high scholl and my brother went to college and she had a degree. I have a degree in child development special ed. Most aides run out of the room crying or throwing up, but they were my babies. I also have a business degree and have managed two larg chain retail clothing stores, like a Dillards type. I have had over 22 surgeries and could no longer work and had to file for disability. I KNOW nothing of the law!! I am here to meet other who have sick pets or pets that have died like mine. It is not about the money it is about the fact that menu foods bought wheat gluten from a company in china and it was contaminated with rat poison not leagal in the USA. Second of all FDA rules state that any new product should be tested before it goes into the product meaning human food, animal food and drugs and many more things. The did no test the wheat gluten they just put it in their food and tested it on thier own animal test subjects and knew long before we did that there was a problem. Our pets were not property like a car or house that can be fixed or replaced. They are a one of a kind personality who is just as much a family member to us as our relatives are. If asked would you rather have your dog back or a million or billion dollars I would say I want my dog back, but seeing how that is impossible she is cremated and here in my home. I and thousands others feel that paying the vet bills is just not enough, their is the pain and suffering of the owners, the children and the pets themselves suffered a lot!!!!!! I am a Christian and know I will see my sweet Manda one day in heaven. As for me being an attorny, please I wanted to be a vet but did not have the grades, I had to go to local community college to bring up my GPA and graduated with honors and was always on the deans list, but I fell in love with kids who have to have 10 or more handicaps to be considered SPH severly profoundly Handicapped and that hardly anyone would work with them and treat them with dignity, love and talk to them and read to them even if we did not know if they could hear us. The point is I love ALL ANIMALS and HANDICAPPED children and will fight for their rights till the day I die. They companies do deserve to pay for killing our animlas and making then sick it was their responsibility to have the new product tested and I have information that they new long before they called in the dog and cat food recall. But me a lawyer what a joke, I would rather save children, animlas, our planet, the way we treat each other but more than anything I just love to be with my two 9 year old girls Courtney and Karissa, they are my life and our pets are all of our lives. The girls each have a cat and bird and they have to feed them and clean the litter box, help shop for their food and toys. Courtney has a lovebird also, bunny and Tasha her young but the soffest cat I have ever touched. They are such loving cats and always want to cuddle. sorry dude don\’t sale snake oil I am afraid of snakes. I know one lawyer that is my cousin whom I have not seen in atleast 5 to 6 years, I love him and he loves me it just has to do with work kids and life and he lives a long drive from her in the middle of Arkansas, and just to make you happy he is not practicing law right now he is working in his fathers business and getting the green!!Sorry I can\’t crawl under a rock for you but my hopital bed wouldn\’t fit along with the tubes, air, medications, nurses and 9 year old kids and of course all of my pets!!!! You owe me an apology, i nevercame off as a lawere, I just repeated what i had just read on the internet myself. I am trying to help these people find the right class action lawyer, call the FDA (you have to file a report with the FDA so do it monday after easter weekend. And if I did get money it would got to animals in need depeding on the ammount I would love to open a special type shelter where all unwanted, abused, neglected and throw out can come and start again. I will have teen-agers. socializing the pets and specialist on the board to check the animal socialization skills I will also have a training group and vet care on site if possible. That is me and my best friend Dawn\’s dream to build a sancuary house for pets of all breeds and sizes even large breeds like horses. we are saving and when this dream comes true we are going to name it Manda\’s Sancuary House for all animals that need love, food, friends, trust, comfort and health and grooming care. Do I sound like a lawyer to you. My husband is In Saudi where it is dangerous and I am bed bound a lot of the day but will work until my death to make Manda\’s House come true and that we get to save a lot of precious animals!!

    Libba,

I apoligize for calling you a lawyer. You sound like the real deal as far as a caring person. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. If you could tell from my posts, I am not against these people who have lost their pets, I am all for them. I just don\’t agree with trying to use a class action suit to satisfy your loss. The only one who will win is the lawyers. You may end up with a coupon for $1.00 of some dog or cat food in about 3-4 years and the lawyers will be able to buy a new yacht!. You claim that the wheat gluten had rat poison in it and that the pet food company bought this without testing and then when they did find out, they didn\’t do anything. In all the articles of I have read, I have not seen these \”facts\”. Please provide credible links to show these as facts. Like I said before, in the eyes of the law, pets are treated as property. I don\’t like it either, but you have to face facts. You cannot get damages, either actual or punitive or emotional for a piece of property. Believe me, I don\’t consider my dog a piece of property. I consider her family but the doesn\’t change the law. I admire your desire to provide a sanctuary for pets someday. That is very noble. I don\’t know if I will ever be able to do that, but I do give money to the local SPCA every month. Also, I am not trying to defend the company here, just trying to show the realities of the case. How much more pain and hurt should these pet lovers be subject to just to see at the end they get practically nothing. If you want to see a change, then we need to lobby the FDA to regulate our imports better.

I brought my cat to the vet on Friday, March 9 before anything hit the news about tainted cat food. My cat was eating Science Diet savory chicken (senior) since January, 2007. She literally collapsed on Friday, March 9 when I came home from work. Her kidney values were way above normal and I now have her on a prescription diet and have to administer sub-Q fluids every other day. To make matters worse, my cat has a history of seizures (which have been more frequent) and is totally blind. I would like to join any class action lawsuits against Menu Foods and Hill\’s. Please advise.
