\”An Ottawa woman has become violently ill after eating some of her dog\’s food,\” the Canadian Press reports:
After noticing her dog, Missy, wasn\’t eating, [Eliane] Larabie said she took bites of Missy\’s Iams pet food in order to trick the terrier into thinking it was people food.
The ploy worked and the mealtime routine continued for about two weeks until both dog and master became sick on March 17.
It wasn\’t until she saw a TV news story about the Menu Foods recall that she connected the dots.

My point was simply that the big winners in class action suits are rarely, if ever, the injured parties. The attorneys don\’t lose. I find their ads patronizing and tend to be directed at a particular group. They air when most of us working folks are asleep. I could go on but I think it\’s just food for thought when considering who you want leading our nation.

this wouldn\’t be a problem if you owners would quit cutting back on our rights! We\’re hunters! We like to stalk our food and eat it on the spot. How would you like to eat some dried up drivel every day from the same plate; and from the floor at that. Never a choice on beverages; water water water; good grief, cry me a river, but what\’s the deal with the warm water from the sink. You keep your water bottle in that big box and I see ice in it sometimes, yet you want me to eat where your feet walk. If you\’ve notice, that cat sits right next to my dish, that\’s just like having someones butt plopped in your face everyday when you eat.

At least the bologna scraps have picked up since this thing started. The laugher is on you, as it was we, the dogs and cats, who spiked the food so we\’d get a break from that canned and bagged stuff you think we call food.

We\’re sick of waggin\’ our tails for that stuff; either get us something with taste, or we\’ll take a bite out of something for taste, if you know what I mean.

    Ruff!

Signed paw print, Rin Tin Tin

(the preceding was a public service announcement on behalf of dogs and cats everywhere. no animals were harmed in the production of this spot.)

I was treating my cat for renal failure by administering fluids. I was still feeding her Iams and Prefered cat food the whole time. I had to have her put to sleep. Her blood work for renal failure was over the top. I would like to join the class action law suit. Please advise!

TPLO stands for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy . Here is a good website that describes what is done. Basically, they cut the kneecap off, then reposition it so instead of stretching the cruciant ligament, it compresses it while walking or running. http://vetsurgerycentral.com/tplo.htm

My Maggie just turned 10 years old. A golden Lab. She had the surgeries 9 months apart when she was 4.

Her last illness had nothing to do with dog food. It was just one of those things. I do feed her Innova Senior Plus dry and she likes it and it is good for her. She is very active still and if it weren\’t for the TPLO surgery, she would not be walking today.

Sharon, I feel for your loss. But have you read all the comments prior to your post? Class action will get you nothing. Maybe a $5 off coupon for new dog food. The only people who will make money on a class action suit will be the lawyers. If you want any satisfaction, you would be better to hire an attorney on your own and have him sue. I bet he would take the case on a contingency basis.

I have a cat that is about 14 years old and he has been eating Iams for about 8 mos. I threw all my Iams away as soon as I heard so I have no proof my cat is ill do to this; however I have spent a lot of money trying to get him better and I am afraid he will need to be put to sleep. He has all the symptoms. Is there anything that can be checked before he passes away to prove this? and I am having difficulty finding an attorney in San Antonio with a class action lawsuit RE this. Can anyone help?.
