P2P Link, LLC – an Internet portal for automating medical billing and reporting for workers’ compensation – announced it has a major new customer, Marriott International, Inc., a lodging and hospitality company, which self insures its workers’ comp.
P2P Link will enable Marriott International for the first time to process its workers’ comp medical bills electronically, reportedly resulting in faster and more efficient claims management for its employees. Marriott, which piloted use of the technology in Florida last August, is currently rolling out the program nationwide. The hotel chain employs about 125,000 workers in the U.S.
Providers simply log on to the P2P Link Web site and regardless of which practice management software they use, upload bill and
medical report files from their existing system. P2P Link then electronically edits these bills and medical reports to assure completeness and delivers them to payers for processing and payment. P2P Link’s services are reportedly designed to eliminate common errors, such as missing information and claim numbers, which would otherwise cause bills to be rejected or processing to be delayed.
Adding extra efficiency, P2P Link’s new queue tool allows Marriott claims handlers to review all provider bills and quickly direct the medical invoices to the appropriate next step, such as the medical case management team, bill adjudication partner or back to the provider for more information.
