January 6, 2004

MedCom USA, Inc., a provider of healthcare/financial transaction solutions for the healthcare industry and Inmediata Corporation of Puerto Rico, a value-added intermediary in the processing, tracking, analysis and management of electronic transactions, have signed an agreement to give MedCom connectivity to Inmediata’s HIPAA clearinghouse.

By having connectivity to Inmediata, MedCom now has the ability to offer it’s MedCom POS Terminal to the approximately 7,000/8,000 Medical Providers throughout Puerto Rico. Currently, Inmediata has been chosen as the preferred clearinghouse for the provision of a single electronic interface for the handling of HIPAA claim transactions, eligibility verification, claim status and remittance processing for the following six health insurance carriers as part of their solution to comply with HIPAA:

Bill Williams, president and CEO, MedCom USA stated, “Working together with Inmediata in Puerto Rico, we now have the ability to capture the claims from the Medical Providers and then send them electronically through Inmediata. The MedCard Terminal will also add additional financial services which will help increase cash flow and reduce administrative overhead for the Medical Practice.”

“Collaborating with MedCom USA, Inmediata together with their Payer relations will have the ability to provide the Medical Providers with an expanded HIPAA-compliant solution for their claims submission. This signing increases our coverage and adds additional value to the provider,” stated Jose Angeles, COO, Inmediata Corporation.

HIPAA is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 that requires health providers and health plans to adopt standards for electronic administrative and financial transactions.
