The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) will hold a Web-based seminar Wednesday, March 5, to provide an update on measures to comply with the new federal terrorism reinsurance program.
Among other things, the seminar will cover requirements arising from final regulations issued by the U.S. Treasury regarding the program. Final regulations are expected imminently.
The seminar is open to all companies, but will focus on AAIS responses to the latest regulatory guidelines. So far, the federal reinsurance program and regulations related to it apply only to commercial and farm lines.
The seminar, scheduled to begin 10 a.m. Central time (11 a.m. Eastern), will run about 45 minutes and feature two AAIS staff members:
*Deborah Summerlin, vice president of insurance lines, will review recent developments in the drafting and filing of forms and disclosure notices; and
*Kim Ward, chief actuary, will introduce new supplemental rating information.
Participants will be able to see and hear the presentation over their own computers and telephones, and will have an opportunity to pose questions.
