A passenger who was killed after a tire flew off an oncoming vehicle and through the windshield of the victim’s car in southern Wisconsin is identified as an Illinois man.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says 55-year-old Mark Bolan, of Lombard, Illinois, died Monday in a crash on Interstate 39/90 in Dane County. The driver of the car hit by the tire lost control of the vehicle and slid into a concrete barrier.
WISC-TV says the driver of the car wasn’t seriously injured. The State Patrol says the tire came off an unknown heavy utility truck or trailer.
