A man whose car was damaged by concrete falling from a bridge just blocks away from where Cincinnati Bengals fans were tailgating will have to sue to get any money out of the state of Ohio.
No one was injured, but the car was heavily damaged when concrete chunks fell on it from a ramp to the Brent Spence Bridge downtown on Sunday afternoon near Paul Brown Stadium.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Ohio Department of Transportation owns and monitors that section of the ramp. But the agency doesn’t have an internal reimbursement system, so car owner Andy Brothers will have to sue the state to recover any money to pay for repairs.
Local leaders have been lobbying for 15 years to replace or augment the bridge.
