Patrol officers early Monday found the front windows shattered at the high-end Moncler store in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and several racks of coats stolen.
The officers were on patrol when they heard the burglar alarm at 3:50 a.m. on Oak Street near Michigan Avenue, Chicago police said. The windows were crashed, possibly by a vehicle, police said.
Moncler is a European retailer known for its pricey winter coats, jackets and clothing. Police didn’t have an estimate for the value of the goods taken.
Two jackets and part of a mannequin were on the sidewalk and street outside the store, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
No one is in custody and police are investigating, police said.
