Residents of Wessington Springs, S.D., affected by a June 18 tornado have until Sept. 13 to submit an application for financial assistance.
The Daily Republic reports the Wessington Springs Relief Fund has collected about $170,000.
Linda William is the city’s finance officer. She says only funds needed for emergency needs have been distributed so far.
A city-formed committee will be responsible for the dividing the rest of the funds among tornado victims. City officials have declined identifying the members of the committee.
