Officials say three people were taken to a hospital after a batting cage with a steel frame and netting fell from the ceiling of a Goshen, Ind., College gymnasium.
The cage fell onto a bleachers area during games Monday evening for a summer high school girls volleyball league at the northern Indiana college.
Goshen Fire Department battalion chief Rick Kauffman tells The Elkhart Truth that three adults were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Goshen College student Sam Heberling tells The Goshen News she was officiating a game when she heard pops as the cage came down. The cage hit her in the arm but she didn’t go to the hospital.
College spokeswoman Jodi Beyeler says it isn’t yet known what caused the cage to fall down.
