Officials are cleaning up after storm damage at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron.
Fair Manager Jerome Hertel tells KOKK radio that severe weather that hit the region last Friday night downed trees and a livestock barn on the fairgrounds. He says the barn toppled over on some vehicles and also damaged them.
The fairgrounds is hosting an Airstream camper rally. Hertel says about 250 of the aluminum campers were parked when the storm hit. He says most weathered the storm well. Some of the rally-goers took refuge in buildings on the fairgrounds.
The strongest wind gust in the area during the storm was measured at 87 mph.
