Cleveland, Ohio police say they have arrested a city councilman for alleged drunken driving – his third DUI.
A police statement says Councilman Zach Reed was arrested in downtown Cleveland about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after running a red light and making an improper turn.
Police say he failed a sobriety test and was locked up to await the filing of charges.
Reed served a 10-day sentence in 2008 on his second drunken-driving conviction.
The 52-year-old Reed has served on the council for 13 years.
Phone and email messages seeking comment from Reed when he’s available were left at his City Hall office.
