A fire on Joplin, Mo.,’s Main Street destroyed two buildings but firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to other buildings.
No injuries were reported after the fire Tuesday night.
The Joplin Globe reports the fire destroyed a store that recently housed a poll hall and restaurant. Witnesses said a small import company was operating in the building. The fire also destroyed Bucklin’s Furniture.
A nearby structure, housing the Solace Church, had limited fire damage but heavy smoke and water damage. Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading to a nearby home.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire.
