Fire officials in Williston say a recreational vehicle exploded in front of a convenience store Sunday night, injuring at least one person and igniting a fire yards away from the store’s gasoline pumps.
Williston Fire Chief Alan Hanson tells the Williston Herald that the driver of the RV was attempting to light a propane tank when the explosion happened outside the Herman Oil store.
Hanson says one person was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He says the driver pulled into the parking lot to check his vehicle before the fire occurred.
The fire is under investigation but Hanson says it was more than likely caused by a problem with the propane tank.
A firefighter was also treated for a minor cut.
